Jason Momoa has claimed he has a 'dad bod' because recent hernia surgery has prevented him from working out.
On Tuesday's episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, the 43-year-old actor revealed that he underwent the operation the day before The Oscars in March.
And while it did not stop him from attending the ceremony, it has slowed down his rigorous fitness regime.
When asked by Cordon, 44, if he had fully recovered yet, he replied: "All good. Not really doing sit-ups.
“Trying to keep that dad bod going for a little bit longer."
Cordon then quipped: "You can't say you've got a dad bod. You can't. It's not a dad bod!"
To which Momoa responded: "Well, I don't want to do any more sit-ups!"
The former Game Of Thrones star, who is known for his muscular physique, had discussed the procedure on the red carpet at the Oscars: "I had surgery yesterday... [it's because of] throwing bodies around," he said.
"I’m getting old, bro. It ain’t that CinemaCon from 2016, you know what I’m saying."
Back in October, he also blamed his age for making him more injury-prone
"I messed up my eyes," the star said about his time filming Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. "I just got something in it that kinda cut it up, and then I’ve gotta get surgery. I have a hernia, I’ve got ribs out. "I’m just getting beat up...
"I love my job and I get a little too excited. The age thing. I’m an aging superhero now."
The star is now one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors after recently splitting from actress wife Lisa Bonet, 54.
Earlier this year, the pair who married in 2017 and have been in a relationship since 2005, announced their separation.
They share two children, daughter Lola, 15, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 13.
