Jason Momoa reveals huge head tattoo in honour of his Hawaiian heritage

Aquaman actor Jason Momoa revealed a striking new tattoo on his head to honour his Hawaiian heritage.

The 43-year-old said he was back on “the roam” with a new inking, after he recently cut off his trademark hair to help encourage his 17.1 million followers to reduce their plastic waste.

Taking to Instagram, the film star showed off the new addition to his hairline, as he boarded a Hawaiian Airlines flight to New Zealand.

Clad in a white tank top and grey joggers, the Honolulu native excitedly removed his black bowler hat to reveal his eye-catching new tat and in celebration of his flight to New Zealand.

Momoa told the camera as he walked with his pink luggage: “Hey check it out. Hawaiian airlines. Proud to be Hawaiian, proud to ride Hawaiian.

“Best part is it goes to New Zealand finally again! It’s been like two years since they were able to go since Covid.”

Removing his hat, the DC comics star turned to the side to reveal his partially shaved head and large tribal tattoo, while the rest of his long locks were wrapped into a top knot.

He shared: “Hawaiian Airlines, I love you for this. I got something pretty special for you” before adding, “Chief of war coming for you baby!” after unveiling his new ink.

Momoa’s team confirmed that he wanted to another design to honour his connection to Hawaii, as he already has a similar inking wrapped around his forearm.

They told JustJared: “He got his head and neck tattooed. It’s a huge piece, it’s related to his Hawaiian roots and culture.”

Captioning the video, he wrote: “Here we go @hawaiinairlines is back!

“We’re going to New Zealand Hawaii to Aoteroa Mahalo to my Ohana for being there for me yesterday @suluape_keone it was a true honour and 20 years in the making. So stoked.”

And it wasn’t only Momoa who was impressed with his new artwork but his fans who commented in their droves, complimenting his latest design.

One follower commented: “Temple shave looks sick, along with that tattoo!”

“Sick tat dude!” another posted. “You look amazing!”
