Jason Manford supported as he gives ‘heartbreaking’ family health update

Comedian and judge on ITV1's Saturday night entertainment programme Starstruck Jason Manford has issued a 'heartbreaking' health update about his nan. In February 2023, Jason's grandmother, who he calls Nana Manford, was rushed to the hospital at the age of 99 years old.

Sadly Jason's nan has remained in the hospital and is no longer eating. Jason posted an emotional update to his Instagram where he posted pictures of his family around his nan's bedside and said the situation was "heartbreaking".

He said: "Unfortunately she's still in the hospital. Everyone is doing everything they can to get her home but she's just stopped eating (even when given a box of her favourite chocolates for Mother's Day!) not sure why, she says she wants to come home, knows that eating will help this, but for whatever reason, maybe her dementia, she just won't eat." Jason added: "It's heartbreaking if I'm honest, especially to see my dad upset. But we're staying strong as a family, lots of laughs and spent more time than was necessary rubbing hand cream into those 99-year-olds hands...thanks again for all your kindness in messages".

The comments of the post were flooded with messages of support for Jason and his family. Actress and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star Ruthie Henshall commented: "So much love. X" Fellow Starstruck judge Beverley Knight said: "Huge love my Jase. Love to Nana" followed by a red love heart emoji.

A fan said: "Aww Jase sending you all lots of love and hope Nana is home soon xx" while another added: "Sending Nana Manford and your whole family strength and love. Thinking of you all, bless her xxx" followed by a red love heart emoji.
