Jason Manford defended his co-star Sheridan Smith as fans supported her in the face of some unkind comments.
Two Pints of Lager star Sheridan has appeared in a number of shows which have aired on ITV this week including Starstruck, The Teacher and No Return.
But her Starstruck co-star Jason Manford hit back at people who unkindly pointed out how much Sheridan Smith was appearing on screen recently.

Taking to Twitter, the comedian wrote: "Seen a few comments about Sheridan being on tv a lot this week. It’s not sommat [sic] she’s in charge of, she would’ve filmed those 3 excellent shows last year & some scheduler decided they went on this week.
"So chill out, also she’s excellent & you’re lucky to have her."
While there were a few unkind comments about Sheridan's multiple TV appearances, most of the comments praised her for her stellar performances.
Debbie said: "Got 3 good dramas on the go just now. Watched The Teacher during the week, Four Lives last night. Both really good. Starting, No Return tomorrow night. @Sheridansmith1 is in all of them! She's great in them. So there's 3 new dramas to put on your list."
Clarke said: "@Sheridansmith1 is a national treasure Jason, and your [sic] right we are so lucky to have her. What is it with people trying to tear people down all the time!!! Everything Sheridan is in is fantastic!! Cilla, Moorside, Mrs Biggs, Two Pints, No Return, The Teacher, Gavin and Stacey..X"
Paully said: "I couldn't care less what she's in, id watch her every night of the week. Always been one of my favourite British Actors."
