There was an emotional moment during The National Lottery's New Year's Eve Big Bash on ITV when two Ukrainian refugees, a mother and daughter, were reunited. Host of the show Jason Manford became emotional during the reunion as did the viewers at home.
Vladyslava was reunited with her mother Angela, which was a big surprise for her. Vladyslava is a Ukrainian refugee living in the UK and working for the Welsh Refugee Council helping other Ukrainian refugees to settle in the UK.
While doing this Vladyslava's mother was still living in Kyiv and the mother and daughter hadn't seen each other since March 2022. Vladyslava was named as one of the recipients of the National Lottery Young Hero 2022 awards and ITV surprised Vladyslava by flying her mum out to give her to award.

Upon seeing her mum come through the crowd Vladyslava looked shocked and the mother and daughter ran to hug each other. Jason Manford was very moved and became emotional on stage, he said: "Oh wow, you two together, my goodness!"
Through her tears Angela told Vladslava she was "so proud" of her as they hugged on stage. She said: "I'm so proud of you, you are doing so important and necessary work for all Ukrainians here in Great Britain. I am proud of you."
Elsewhere in the show, fellow Ukrainian refugee Amelia, who went viral when a video of her singing Let It Go in a bunker in Ukraine, was surprised by cast members of Frozen the musical to sing with her. The little girl's face lit up when Ana and Elsa joined her on stage and many viewers found her reaction very moving.
One said: "Not me sobbing at this lottery show on itv. The little girl that sang let it go in a bomb shelter just got surprised by the cast of frozen and I'm in bits."
Another added: "The little girl singing #letitgo on ITV had me in tears she was so excited" followed by three red love heart emojis. A third said: "Not Itv making me cry with the little girl singing frozen".
