One of the Eagles’ biggest needs coming into the NFL draft on Thursday night was wide receiver. Boy, did they fill that need in a big way.
It wasn’t in the way everyone expected it to be, though. The Eagles had two first-round picks. They wound up trading both of them for separate things. The first pick at 15 they used to move up to go draft Jordan Davis after four wide receivers were taken ahead of him.
OK. Not receiver, but solid pick. Cool.
The second time they traded? That was where the boom came in. They used the 18th pick and the 101st pick in the draft to trade for A.J. Brown from the Titans.
A.J. BROWN, Y’ALL. This is exactly what they needed. A big, playmaking receiver on the outside. It was written in stone — or really, a facetime call between him and Jalen Hurts. This was exciting news for Eagles fans everywhere.
That includes Jason Kelce. The trade happened while he was on live with Adam Lefkoe of Bleacher Report analyzing the draft. Lefkoe is also an Eagles fan.
The two went bonkers after hearing the news.

Kelce really put it perfectly, man. “A.J. Brown?!?…. This is big, Lefkoe. This is big. How bout that one?” Couldn’t have said it any better.
As for an explanation on how this is happening, he also had a breakdown.
“Howie Roseman is working that Howie Roseman magic. He’s swindling. He’s moving up in the draft to get Jordan Davis and now he’s trading to get an unbelievable receiver. I’m like … Christmas right now. Howie Roseman is Santa Claus.”
It is Christmas for Eagles fans right now. Absolutely. Day 1 of draft night was an absolute dream.
They were just as excited as Kelce was about the big news.
