Former NFL player Jason Kelce has officially announced his retirement from professional football, stating that he has no intentions of returning to the field. The 36-year-old center, who played his entire 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles, emphasized that only a medical breakthrough could potentially change his decision.

After retiring following the 2023-2024 season, Kelce cited the toll on his body as a key factor in his decision. He has already shed weight from his playing days and is focused on maintaining a lower weight moving forward.

Kelce expressed confidence in his successor, Cam Jurgens, who he believes will excel in the center position for the Eagles. Despite stepping away from playing, Kelce remains involved in various projects, including hosting a podcast with his brother Travis Kelce and joining ESPN's Monday Night Countdown broadcast team.

Reflecting on his retirement, Kelce acknowledged that he knew it was time to move on when he felt he could no longer perform at his peak level. He emphasized the importance of recognizing when one's body signals that it's time to step away from the game.

While Kelce admitted that he no longer feels capable of playing at his previous elite level, he remains committed to staying in shape. His wife, Kylie Kelce, ensures that he works out at least three days a week to maintain his physical well-being and positive mindset.

Despite closing the chapter on his playing career, Kelce's dedication to fitness and his continued involvement in the sports world reflect his ongoing passion for the game and his commitment to personal well-being.
