Eagles center Jason Kelce has already had a career to remember. Since Philadelphia took him in the sixth round of the 2011 draft, Kelce has made six Pro Bowls, appeared on five All-Pro teams, and won Super Bowl LII.
Winning Super Bowl LVII, however, would be icing on the cake. Not only would the 35-year-old Kelce become a Super Bowl champion, he'd accomplish the feat against his brother, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, in the first Super Bowl with brothers on both teams.
Despite everything on the line, Jason Kelce reiterated Friday that the outcome of the game would have no bearing on his retirement decision.
"I don’t think so,” Kelce said, quoted in The Athletic. “From everybody I’ve been told about when it’s time to retire or not, you just know when you know. And it’s going to be when you don’t want to play football anymore. And I don’t think winning this game is going to determine whether I want to continue to play football or not.”
Kelce is currently on a one-year deal that pays him $14 million, the highest figure of any center in the league.
The Kelces will square off in the Super Bowl on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Ariz..
