Jason Donovan has paid a long-awaited visit to the kebab van named after him - and pronounced its food as "very special".
Bristol's Jason Donervan - a well-known late night food van in the city - was featured on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. It was the latest in a slot that sees TV presenter Andi Peters travelling the length and breadth of the UK to visit 'punny' food vans.
The former Neighbours star made a surprise appearance at the end of filming - to cheers from the huge crowd gathered by the van for the show, Bristol Live reports.
The segment started with Andi and Jason Donervan's owner exchanging a number of quips, with the latter telling Andi: "I was promised I'd get to meet Ant & Dec", to which Andi replied: "I was promised I'd get to meet a soap star".
Andi then asked the team at the Jason Donervan if namesake Jason Donovan had ever visited and when they said no, he spoke directly to the camera and called on Jason to come and get a kebab "literally with your name on it". Ant & Dec's show continued in the studio until, at around 8:15pm, the camera flashed back to Andi Peters in Bristol.
To everyone's surprise, the man himself then emerged from the crowd to grab a takeaway. The actor and singer requested a "full-on Doner, with garlic mayonnaise and chilli".
Jason said: "I've never been here before but I'm very happy it's here." He said of his meal: "That looks very special...I mean it's definitely not calorific."
Andi told him: "You get your very own Jason Doner kebab meal! You're going to love that."
Those among the crowd said that nobody knew the star was coming. After filming, Jason posed for photos with the Jason Donervan team before leaving in a limo.
