Before Adrian Araouzou was best known as one of this season’s most controversial grooms on Married At First Sight (MAFS), he was best known for a TikTok account in which he shared desert creations alongside Sydney food influencer and cookbook author Jasmin Weston.
At the time of filming MAFS, Jasmin and Adrian were close friends, with Jasmin making an appearance at his wedding to his on-screen bride Awhina Rutene in upcoming family week. However, now it seems that their friendship has disintegrated with Jasmin posting an apology to Awhina and her sister Cleo for what happens in this week’s episodes.
In a statement made to her TikTok and Instagram, Jasmin addressed the mounting speculation about their friendship and her involvement on MAFS after their joint page TikTok Sweet Sundayz was deactivated.
“Over the next couple of nights, you are going to watch me (regretfully) defend Adrian in MAFS,” the Instagram Story began.
“I take full responsibility for my actions and the things I say during that interaction. It is not at all the best version of myself and I have since reached out to Awhina and Cleo to apologise.
“As you all know, Adrian and I are no longer friends. Watching Adrian argue with Awhina is like having dejavu. But during the time this was filmed (six months ago), I was still very much so Adrian’s best friend.”
Jasmin claimed that at this stage she only knew Adrian’s side of the story and as a result, she became protective over her friend. However, now that she’s seen the context of his relationship with Awhina on MAFS, Jasmin says she “understands exactly how and why Awhina had those feelings towards Adrian”.
“It was no different to our friendship. The manipulation tactics are copy and paste. Hence why I ended the friendship and Sweet Sundayz at the end of last year,” the statement continued.
“This is not at all an excuse.
She concluded the message with another apology to Awhina and Cleo.
“I am sorry for all the things I say and Awhina you have my support in this all,” she wrote.

Previously, Jasmin had hinted at the friendship breakdown by deleting a lot of content with Adrian and the page they shared together on TikTok. Earlier this month she also posted a TikTok with a trending audio which many fans took to be about the MAFS groom.
While we don’t know exactly what went down in the episodes just yet, it’s pretty big of Jasmin to take responsibility for her actions and speak out publicly in support of Awhina and Cleo.
