She was the Olympic doubles gold medalist with partner Sara Errani. Paolini also participated in the WTA Finals in November and helped Team Italy win the Billie Jean King Cup later that month.
Most recently, she represented Team Italy at the United Cup. Italy fell to the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals with Paolini losing to Karolina Muchova in straight sets. She is a woman of many talents evidenced by her recent social media video surfing in Australia during breaks from the United Cup schedule.

Paolini is currently ranked fourth in singles and tenth in doubles. 2025 will be a challenging year for her to defend the points she earned to rise in the rankings. In January 2024, she was 31st in singles.
Adored by fans worldwide, she is the highest-ranked Italian female tennis player in history. She has earned a well-deserved break around her birthday to refuel before main draw action in the 2025 Australian Open begins on January 12.
