Jasudavicius on the fight's key moment
“It really did work out better than I expected because yeah, I did have the crazy strike differential – but in addition, I got the finish on top of it.”
Jasudavicius on Cachoeira's multiple weight change requests
“The entire time that I was in there, I was just trying to beat her up. It pissed me off, that weight discrepancy. The thing that she did with the weight pissed me off so much. The first round, I just wanted to torture her a little bit. Be a professional. Like, come on: We agreed to this weight so long ago. It pisses me off.
“If I sign my name on a dotted line to fight, I’m fighting. I don’t care. How big is she going to be? She normally fights at 125. I just think she sucks at cutting weight. OK, 10 pounds … who cares? I train with girls that are 10 pounds heavier. I’ve been to all different gyms in the world and I’m always being matched up with the ‘35ers instead of the ‘15ers, even though I’m a ‘25er. I’m used to it. I don’t care. I’ll take the same fight anywhere. Even though we are doing another weight class, I’m still getting 30 percent (of her purse, as if she missed weight). I get 30 percent because this isn’t her first miss. The max that they allow in Ontario is 30 percent. Honestly, I wish it was more because it’s another weight class.”
Jasudavicius on what she wants next
“Hopefully I get back up and I can get a ranked opponent sometime soon. Maybe not next fight, whatever – the fight after. But I want to be active. I want to continue to fight. I really believe in my skills and abilities. I’ve trained with girls – the best in the world and up in that range – and I truly know where I stand with them. As long as I don’t make any silly mistakes, as long as I fight the right way, I can be the best in the world. I truly believe that the belt can be in my hands.”
