Jarrod Bowen told to follow Mohamed Salah as Liverpool transfer links continue

Jarrod Bowen's links to Liverpool have been more than justified this season as the West Ham man has been in fine form with more goal involvements than any English player.

Bowen's six goals and nine assists in the Premier League have earned himself some comparisons to elements of what Liverpool star Mohamed Salah does, given they play in a similar position.

The West Ham man doesn't have an England appearance to his name, but his impressive campaign has put him in a great place to earn that first international call-up.

Hammers assistant coach, Stuart Pearce, believes Salah is someone who Bowen can learn from as he looks to improve even further.

"The comparison between him and Mo Salah, we have looked at the way Salah stands the defender up and stops and then goes again or uses the defender to curl the ball around into the far corner and I think it is just picking up a few comparisons that can help Jarrod with his game a little bit," Pearce said on TalkSport.

"Starting a run, then stopping it and killing a defender in his tracks, then going again, little things like that.

"That is why I still think he has more to come in his game."

Pearce still thinks the Liverpool target has room for improvement, despite his impressive performances so far this season.

"I still think there is a lot more to come from him, I really do," Pearce added.

"He has great energy, he has an eye for a goal and can finish with both feet and that is the beauty of Jarrod, sometimes you look at players and they look the complete article, I think with him, and we have various players within our ranks, that I think have got more to come."

The ECHO understands Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are admirers of Bowen, and are continuing to monitor him as a potential future transfer target.
