Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Kurt Zouma - West Ham injuries ahead of Nottingham Forest fixture

West Ham United will be looking to move out of the Premier League’s relegation zone on Saturday afternoon against Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers suffered their first defeat in five matches in all competitions against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, with a 2-0 defeat seeing them fall back into the relegation zone ahead of hosting fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest.

Ahead of the meeting with Forest, here is a look at West Ham’s current list of absentees.

Maxwel Cornet (calf)

Having returned to training with the rest of the group on multiple occasions since getting injured, winger Maxwel Cornet remains out of action.

Cornet has not featured since making his full Premier League debut for West Ham on October 1, with Moyes still unsure of when Cornet will return fully.

Ahead of the defeat to Spurs, Moyes did provide a positive update on him, suggesting Cornet is nearing a return.

“We’re looking forward to that, I’ve got to say, looking forward to getting him back,” said Moyes. “It seems like a long time since we’ve had him.

“We’re probably due him back next Monday, whether that means training or whether that means we’ve got periods of breaking him in. We’ll certainly have to build him to get back and be ready to play, that is for sure.”

Kurt Zouma (thigh)

Having only returned from a two-month absence due to knee surgery in the win over Everton last month, French centre-back Kurt Zouma is now back on the treatment table.

The former Chelsea defender suffered a small tear in his thigh in the first half of the win over his former side Everton but played the duration of the match.

Speaking on Zouma, ahead of facing the defender’s former club, Chelsea, Moyes said he was unsure of when Zouma may return.

“Kurt we're not sure about yet,” Moyes explained.

Lucas Paqueta (shoulder)

Early into the first half against Chelsea, Brazilian midfielder and potential club-record signing (if add-ons are triggered), Lucas Paqueta was forced off with a shoulder issue.

After landing awkwardly when contesting for the ball, Paqueta was in discomfort with his right shoulder, having suffered a collarbone injury in a similar spot in October.

Speaking ahead of the defeat to Tottenham, Moyes said that Paqueta would miss the game and remained tight-lipped over a potential return date.

Jarrod Bowen (unknown)

Winger Jarrod Bowen suffered a late injury during the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in north London.

Following a strong challenge in the closing stages of the game, Bowen did not come off but was moving in what appeared to be significant discomfort.

After the game, Moyes said he did not know the exact nature of the issue, or how long he will be absent.

“I’ve not checked it. I thought it was a poor decision that it wasn’t a yellow card,” said Moyes. “I thought it was very simple. We’re now giving bookings where we’re seeing somebody touch somebody’s toes by a couple of inches, if you know what I mean.

“This was a whack around the shins to me. I was a long way away, so I might be wrong but my first thought, and I’ve not had a chance to see it again, my first thought was it was a pretty clear booking and what it led to was because I don’t think the referee got that decision right.”
