Jarrad Branthwaite makes major PSV admission amid Everton transfer speculation

Jarrad Branthwaite has appeared to end speculation he could leave PSV Eindhoven to join a different club during the January transfer window.

The Blues confirmed Branthwaite had joined the Dutch giants on a season-long loan deal back in July. The centre-back joined the Blues from League Two club Carlisle United, his hometown team, in January 2020.

Branthwaite has so far made 13 first-team appearances for Everton, scoring one goal, and signed a new contract in December that keeps him at the club until 2025. The deal in the summer was the second time the defender had left Everton on loan, after he joined Blackburn Rovers in the Championship during the second half of the 2021/22 season.

However, the defender has only made 12 appearances for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side so far this season. And a recent report claimed the Blues had reached an agreement to end the 20-year-old’s loan with the Eredivisie side

But speaking to Dutch publication Eindhovens Dagblad, Branthwaite has described PSV and the Dutch league as a 'good stage' for his continued development before he claimed he is 'very satisfied' at the Philips Stadium.

He said: “This is just a very nice club, PSV. There are many committed people who want to form a family club together. I ended up in a pleasant team.

“This is a beautiful environment for me in all respects and, moreover, this competition is a good stage for further growth as a footballer. I am very satisfied here.”
