Jared Verse and Braden Fiske came into the NFL as former college teammates and they ended their rookie seasons by making franchise history together in the playoffs. Even though the Los Angeles Rams came up short in Sunday’s game, both Verse and Fiske flashed the talent that made them early picks in the 2024 NFL draft.
Against the Philadelphia Eagles, Verse and Fiske became the first pair of Rams teammates in history to each record a sack in a playoff game. They’re also the first rookie tandem to accomplish the feat since 2018 when Uchenna Nwosu and Justin Jones each had a sack for the Chargers against the Ravens.

Fiske’s sack came in the first quarter, which is actually the play he injured his knee on. He was unfortunately unable to return to the game, a big blow to a Rams defense that still managed to sack Jalen Hurts seven times.
Verse was particularly dominant in the loss, recording two sacks and four tackles, three of which went for a loss. He backed up his trash talk with an outstanding performance once again, even though the Rams didn’t come away with a win.
The future is incredibly bright for both Verse and Fiske, who were the best rookie pass-rushing tandem the league has seen in a long, long time.
