The World Baseball Classic is off and running, and while Team USA has gotten off to a rough start, we have seen a lot of cool moments so far in what has been a very fun tournament.
One of these moments came off the field, when Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki found a sweet way to apologize to Czech Republic batter William Escala after hitting him in his knee with a 101-mph fastball, which didn’t look like much fun at all.
Sasaki, a 21-year-old phenom who can routinely hit triple digits on the radar gun, went to Escala’s hotel Monday morning and gave him two bags of candy as an apology.
