Jahnvi Kapoor might just be entering Bollywood with Dhadak, but she rose to stardom pretty early as a star kid. Daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, Janhvi had amassed a huge number of followers even before talks of her Bollywood debut surfaced. She is a millennial who continued to rule hearts of fans with her impromptu dubsmash videos, Instagram updates and appearances with mother Sridevi.
Janhvi is aware of the role her surname has played in her career so far, the debate around nepotism and a need to prove herself. Speaking of the attention she gets, she has said, “I don’t have anything to talk about actually. I know I don’t deserve this attention right now.” There is a clarity in her thoughts and yet, she has kept the youth and innocence of her age intact. Dhadak, also starring Ishaan Khatter and directed by Shashank Khaitan, is slated to release on July 20. The film is a remake of the popular Marathi film Sairat and the music director of Sairat - Ajay and Atul - have also composed the music for Dhadak. Karan Johar is introducing both Janhvi and Ishaan to Bollywood by bankrolling the film.
