Janey Godley to close Glasgow International Comedy Festival following brave return to stage

Janey Godley will close the Glasgow International Comedy Festival this year as the comic continues to shows bravery in her fight against ovarian cancer.

Janey is one of three Glasgow-born comics closing the festival. Susie McCabe and TikTok funny man Paul Black with join the 62-year-old, with the trio picked to bring down the curtain on this year's festival. Janey, Susie and Paul will lead the line-up at the Closing Gala on Sunday, April 2.

The announcement comes just days after the Glaswegian comic embarked on what she has called the last run of shows of her life, her 'Not Dead Yet' tour.

Janey is back on stage for the first time since her cancer diagnosis, entertaining crowds in Arbroath during the opening two nights of the show. The comedian is now heading further north to Inverness for her weekend shows.

Local fans will get the chance to see the comedian in action though as she heads closer to home in the coming weeks, performing at Glasgow's SEC Armadillo on March 5.

When is the Glasgow International Comedy Festival?

This year's Glasgow International Comedy Festival will kick off on Wednesday, March 15.

The festival will then draw to a close on Sunday, April 2.
