Janey Godley thanks fans for support ahead of last chemotherapy session

Janey Godley has taken to social media to thank her followers for their support as she gets set for her last round of chemotherapy.

The Scots comedian has been battling ovarian cancer since December 2021 and has been undergoing further treatment after discovering her cancer had progressed to stage 3b.

This means there are cancer growths 2cm or smaller in size on the lining of the abdomen and there may also be cancer in the lymph nodes.

As she gets prepared for her last round of chemo, Janey today took to Twitter to post her thoughts and feelings.

She wrote: "Up early for bloods before number six chemo tomorrow - it’s the last in this cycle and hopefully the last ever ( fingers crossed) #cancer #ovariancancer

"I can’t quite express the gratitude for the huge outpouring of love I get on twitter - I can’t believe I spent YEARS arguing back with anonymous bams when so much love existed on here - your love and support have made me a better human."

And many flocked to the comments to send her well-wishes.

One wrote: "Oh Janey thinking of you and sending you lots of love for this (hopefully final) session. xxx."

Another added: "Wishing you all the very best from the finsl roynd of chemo Janey.

While one said: "You are a trooper and an inspiration to others going through it right now. Wishing for full recovery results too lovely lady xx."

Another commented: "You'll be in my thoughts, Janey. Saying a prayer that Bunty will be getting served her final walking papers and that from here it's the road to recovery! There's a whole lot of love and support behind you from all over, wishing you all the best."

Janey has previously opened up about chemotherapy and how it has really taken its toll on her mentally.

Updating her Twitter followers, Janey said: "Dealing with cancer has turned my mental health issues into a difficult unfathomable pretzel, the chemo & steroids have wreaked havoc with my brain & I am now dealing with this daily.

"It’s not a weakness to admit it can pull you down #MentalHealthMatters thanks for all support."
