Janey Godley has taken to social media to share an update with her followers after bagging herself a comedy award.
The Glaswegian took to Instagram to announce that she had won the 'comedians comedian' at the Chortle Awards adding that she was feeling "very chuffed." She later shared a separate video thanking people, joking that she 'almost had to die' to win the award.
In the Instagram video she said: "I am actually getting my chemotherapy right now and I want to thank everybody who voted me for Comedians' Comedian. I've not done comedy in a year so I think yous are very misguided but thanks everybody this is fairly lifted me up and I cannae wait to see you all.

"I'm sure I will run into my comedy pals. This is such a lovely, lovely honour and it's obvious had I had to almost die to get it. But you know, that's comedy for ya.
"But thanks, you are all amazing. Thank you."
The award comes as the comic returned to the stage in recent days for the first time in over a year as part of her 'Not Dead Yet' tour. Following her ovarian cancer diagnosis, Janey is now travelling across Scotland, with dates in London and one in Glasgow as well as other stops including Inverness and Greenock.
Janey Godley will perform in Glasgow's SEC on March 5 2023.
