Janey Godley shares throwback snap with Billy Connolly as comic undergoes more cancer treatment

Janey Godley shared a series of throwback pictures of her life - including one with Sir Billy Connolly which she dubbed 'one of her favourite photos'.

In the snap the 61-year-old can be seen giving Sir Billy a hug as the two comics pose for a warm embrace. One fan said: "Big yin and wee yin!" Another wrote: "Absolutely love it."

Someone else penned: "2 comedic greats, love u both."

She also shared nostalgic pictures with her daughter Ashley as a baby, and another of her late father and granny in 1939 on Twitter.

Last week Janey told how she is currently undergoing cancer treatment after the disease was found in her abdomen. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November 2021 and announced five months ago she had been given the all clear.

She also recently opened up on one of the 'toughest experiences of her life' 26 years after her uncle was jailed for sexually abusing her. She marked the anniversary of her uncle, David Percy, being convicted of preying on her when she was a child.

She took him to court as an adult to secure a conviction in 1996. After a four-day trial David, then 47, who played the flute in a loyalist marching band, was put behind bars for the sexual offences.
