Janey Godley has given her fans on social media a new update on her cancer journey as she took to Twitter to inform her loyal fleet of 292,000 followers that her most recent scans have come back, as she celebrated and raised a glass to the good news.
The 62-year-old often keeps her fans updated on her health as the stand-up comic from Glasgow is tragically suffering from an incurable form of cancer.
Janey wrote: "My cancer scan came back clear. My breast screening came back clear. I will never be cured of ovarian cancer but I will continue to be treated for it thanks Scottish NHS and @Beatson_Charity I am now off to get a glass of champagne @GrouchoClubSoho."
The Scottish comedian accompanied the social media post with a photo of herself looking positively bright and then later also shared a photo of her Champagne glass at the private members club in London's Dean Street.
"I’m not all clear, I will always have ovarian cancer but for now it’s being treated and I am responding to that treatment," Janey responded to some fans who believed this meant her battle with cancer was finally over.
People rushed to the social media post to share the good news with her. One wrote: "Woo hoo! Fab news. Enjoy the fizz xx."
"Cheers, keep smiling and making us laugh x," added another fan as a third quipped: "Enjoy! You deserve every drop . Great to read your good news xx"
Someone else added: "This is wonderful to read, Janey. Congratulations. A huge sigh of relief for you and family. Definitely earned that champagne!"
