Janey Godley says 'soul is broken' as she shares devastating cancer update

Janey Godley has shared another update to fans on the status of her cancer, revealing that her soul feels "broken".

The Glasgow comedian uploaded a video on Twitter in which she has a conversation with her daughter Ashley about her current feelings on her ovarian cancer diagnosis.

Godley underwent a hysterectomy operation earlier this month to treat the cancer, but was informed after the procedure that it had reached stage three — meaning it has spread beyond her ovaries and will require further treatment.

She is now preparing to undergo chemotherapy, which the two discuss in the video uploaded to the social networking site on Wednesday.

At the start of the clip, her daughter asks her how she is feeling, to which Godley responds: "It's honestly really hard to find a place where I feel ok because everything just feels really bleak.

"I know that I've got to be positive and pull on my big girl pants and 'you got this' but there's naewhere in my heid that feels ok.

"And I know what it's dain to you and I know what it's doing to yer da and even the dug has started to p**h herself."

Godley then began to make a joke, but her daughter asked her to be serious as the two carried on the conversation.

She continued: "It's just hard because I don't know where I am supposed to put my heid, I don't know where I've to find my peace.

The comedian also revealed that she is not interested in attending group sessions with professionals and other people in a similar situation.

She said: "I don't do well with groups, I know there are great groups out there and great support out there but that isny my thing, I tend to go inward.

"I know I'm going to go through chemotherapy... but I canny see beyond that, what if beyond that they scan me and find more? And I know I'm not supposed to think like that but who the f**k are you to tell me how I'm supposed to think?

"What if after all this they might find more and keep snapping bits off me like I'm a f*****g gingerbread man until finally there's one wee bit of me left that doesn't have cancer."

In a second video, which contains the second half of the conversation, Godley's daugher — who is also a comedian — said that she feels her mum needs something to keep her occupied as 'steeping' can't be good for her soul.

She answered: "My soul's already f*****g broke I think. And people have been so supportive, and I feel as though I'm letting everybody doon because I've got aw this love and aw this support, other people don't have this love and support and I'm getting it and I'm still not being lifted, so maybe I'm an ungrateful b*****d.

She added: "I'm going to try better to feel better the morra!"

When Ashley suggested that she try discover a new hobby, Godley laughed: "I'm no f*****g knitting Ashley, don't whatever ye dae gee me needles!"

The comedian has continued to receive significant support from her fans on Twitter, with one writing: "Thinking of you Janey and sending lots of love."

Another added: "There is no “supposed to” in this. How you feel is how you feel, no right or wrong. I am sure you’ll find your way in this. You’re doing the best you can with what you’ve got."

A third said: "This is YOUR journey, Janey, YOURS. Not ours. We, even your family, are not having your journey, so don't worry about putting on a brave face for us. Feel what you feel & do what you need to to do this. And the hell with us. We're good with you doing what's best for you."
