Scottish comedian Janey Godley has taken to Twitter to share signs of ovarian cancer that she missed.
Janey was diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in December 2021 and underwent chemotherapy to treat it. She had a hysterectomy and told the cancer had reached stage 3b. In 2022, Janey announced that the treatment had been successful but by November, she was told there were signs that the disease had returned and she will be receiving treatment again.
Despite this, Janey has pledged that she will continue to tour and has been using her platform to share the signs of ovarian cancer. With a throwback picture, the comedian urged others to look out for the symptoms so it can be caught earlier.

She said: "I miss my hair, I miss my ovaries and womb and I missed the symptoms of ovarian cancer don’t let that happen to you 1. Bloating and swollen tummy 2. Feeling full before you eat 3. Peeing too much 4. Sore abdomen."
She then went on to share a poster of early stage symptoms and advanced symptoms.
Advanced symptoms includes; fluid collection, changes in bowel habits, pain with intercourse, and back paid.
Many of her followers praised her for raising awareness, as per the Daily Record.
One wrote: "Using your profile to raise awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer; is so helpful and could save others. I tend to retweet selectively. I really enjoy your voiceovers, comedy and Dec 31 BBC radio contribution!"
Another added: "Thanks for sharing Janey. My Mom has been gone for 20 years and at the time missed all these signs. The biopsy gave us the bad news. She managed another three years following diagnose on a six month best guess. Catching it early is the best way to combat it."
While one added: "I didn’t know these at all. Thank you."
