Godley has consistently shared updates on her Twitter page informing fans of the latest news.
On Monday afternoon, she uploaded a video of herself on the social platform speaking about her chemotherapy appointment.
She said: "I've been for my chemotherapy meeting and I'm gonna be getting chemo pretty soon.
"I'll be getting all my hair cut off, so that when it does fall out it's not gonna be like a massive f**king lion's mane trailing behind me.
"I've asked people to stop telling me horror stories about chemotherapy because that wasn't helpful.
"So for the next eighteen, nineteen weeks — 'cause you get one chemotherapy then three weeks off then one chemotherapy then three weeks off — so it's gonna be eighteen or nineteen weeks before all this is finished, and then they'll scan me and let me know if the scary b******ing cancer has spread anywhere else.
"I'm hoping it hasn't, I'm hoping it hasn't. I hope that this all starts at the beginning of the year and as the year progresses I can get back to work."
The comedian continued: "So yeah, I'm just looking forward to getting everything done and getting the chemotherapy done, looking after my nutrition, looking after my taste, looking after my body and getting back on stage — that's what I'm hoping for."
