Janey Godley celebrates cancer update ahead of Greenock comedy gig

Glasgow comedian Janey Godley has taken to social media to celebrate an update to her cancer treatment.

Taking to Twitter with a photo of her grinning ear to ear with her hands in the air, she captioned the tweet: "My haemoglobin is back up and holding it’s own despite weekly chemo!".

Haemoglobin is a protein in your red blood cells that carries oxygen to your body's organs and tissues. It also transports carbon dioxide from your organs and tissues back to your lungs.

Taking to social media to reply to the comedian one said: "Congrats! I used to HATE waiting for the blood results, (still do tbh, but a lot less often now, thank heavens)."

Another commented: "The tweet that has brought the biggest smile to my face today! Fab-who knew going on tour could be so powerful!"

"You look to be living your best life - keep well and keep going!" said a third.
