Janey Godley has gone on a scathing rant aimed at people who are defending Boris Johnson over 'party-gate'.
The former Prime Minister will be hauled before the Commons Privileges Committee for an explosive showdown over whether he deliberately misled MPs about what he knew about lockdown parties in Downing Street.
Scots comedian Janey, 62, has been left absolutely furious by those defending him online, who say 'we all broke the rules'.
She took to Twitter and let her feelings be known in a fuming, sweary rant. Janey reminded people how she stuck to the guidelines - the same as millions of others - and even hosted a nightly Facebook live with comedian daughter Ashley to help ease the isolation being suffered by many.
Janey started off by saying: "Absolutely f****** sick of hearing 'we aw broke the rules - Boris broke the rules - we broke the rules' maybe you did but ah didny, and the people in my family didny and the people up our close didny!
"We were doing live streams - Ashley and I - every night during the pandemic, 40,000 people tuned in Facebook because they didny have anybody else to speak to, some of them were so isolated...
"People in the care home around the corner, they never broke the rules! I never got to my friend's funeral..."
She fumed: "'We all broke rules', naw we f****** didny, don't include me in your s*** trying to excuse Boris for breaking the rules...
"People's careers collapsed, shops shut and never ever recovered, people lost their businesses and people lost their lives!
"Naw I don't remember us all breaking the rules, I'm really f****** angry about this, trying to let Boris Johnson off with breaking the rules because apparently we 'aw did it'."
She then added: "Ah dae f*** all wit Boris Johnson does. Nothing - we have nothing in common, 'we aw broke the rules' I'm f****** sick of it.
"I had covid at the same time I had cancer and I had to wait seven weeks to. get an op because you're not allowed to get an operation during covid and a cancer cyst burst inside me and I had to wait seven weeks for an operation! So naw, I didny f****** break the rules. I'm raging."
In a further tweet, Janey penned: "No Boris, I didn’t break the rules - after a hysterectomy for cancer, I lay in my hospital bed with no visitors - crying for my family but trying to stay brave - while you and your pals partied ya clackw*****."
During lockdown, the Scots comedian became well known for her voiceovers of the First Minister during the coronavirus daily briefings to try and bring some light relief during such a difficult time.
