Janet Street-Porter took a swipe at Helen Skelton on Wednesday's Loose Women as the panel discussed the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Helen, 39, has reportedly signed up to take part in the BBC show's 2022 series and is allegedly "hoping to be struck by the Strictly curse". Christine Lampard brought the topic up during Wednesday's show and Janet had a lot to say on the matter, writes The Mirror.
"Helen Skelton has said this? That she's looking for love on a TV show?" Janet, 75, asked sounding shocked. Asked by Denise Welch why she thinks it's bad, Janet continued: "I just think it's revealing too much. It just makes me anxious for her that she's revealed too much. She sounds too needy.
"The last place I'd look for love would be on a TV show," she added, as Christine argued: "But it happens, it actually does happen with really quite long relationships."
Denise, 64, then had her say: "Well if you're working that closely with people, really up close and personal for sometimes 12 hours a day, sparks will fly..."
The claims come after Helen announced that she and her rugby player husband Richie Myler had split, just months after they welcomed their third child. A source told The Sun: “It’s the perfect way to bounce back. Most people are absolutely desperate to avoid the Strictly curse but Helen would love it to give her some confidence back.
“She’s a great signing for the show and enormously popular with viewers, especially after what has happened to her lately. Everyone on the inside thinks she could end up going a very long way.”
