Janet Street-Porter did not hold back as she discussed Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday's Loose Women.
Lead panelist Ruth Langsford was keen to discuss the drama which occurred in the House of Commons on Monday and the findings of Sue Gray's report regarding Downing Street parties.
When asked by Ruth if she thinks Boris Johnson can be trusted, Janet replied: "Well the word trust is the key word and I think there's not a lot of trust between the public and Boris Johnson.
"On the radio this morning, an MP said, 'If Boris Jonson walked down the main street in my constituency, people would still find him charismatic', I find that incredibly depressing!"
Janet continued: "But the fact of the matter is, that in Tory constituencies and in the Tory heartland in the south east of England, people are looking at this and thinking, 'Hello I wasn't behaving like that, I didn't wheel in a suitcase full of booze every Friday', and they're not buying Boris' flannel!
"Well increasingly you just think, 'Who are you trying to fool?' I just think there's an erosion of trust here.
"Like we all trusted him, we got through the pandemic, we abided by the rules and now this report just seems to be revealing there was a completely different climate going on in Downing Street," she added angrily.
"The bottom line is, the man at the top is still the man that we expect to run the country - not just delegate it to everyone else.
"And what you've got to ask yourself is: Can a man of 57 really change?" she then asked as Katie Piper was heard laughing in the background.
Ruth then turned the conversation to Brenda Edwards, who she said was feeling "very angry about it".
"I totally, 100 per cent agree with what Janet's saying, the trust has been broken and once you've broken that, it's not an easy fix," Brenda commented.
"The whole thing is, everybody's been waiting for this Sue Gray report and now the Sue Gray report is here we're just... it's like we're ignoring it!"
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
