Janet Jackson has shared her approval for a gymnast’s floor routine inspired by the pop star herself.
On 10 February, UCLA gymnast Margzetta Frazier performed her new floor routine to Jackson’s music, during which she showed off moves inspired by choreography in Jackson’s music videos Nasty and If.
The latest routine from the UCLA junior, who has previously gone viral for her impressive gymnastics routines in the past, earned Frazier a score of 9.925 out of 10, as well as praise from Jackson.
After the routine went viral on social media, the Come Back to Me singer retweeted a video of Frazier posted by the UCLA gymnastics account on Twitter, where she tagged the gymnast and added: “#iLuvIt” along with three heart emojis.
Jackson’s approval prompted an overjoyed response from Frazier, who replied in all capitals: “Woke up screaming. I love you. I am so happy that you like it!!! You are why I love to dance.”
The sweet exchange was met with joy on Twitter, where fans praised both icons.
“I don’t even know you, but I’m so proud, and happy for you! You did the damn thing, and the Queen noticed!!!” one person wrote.
Another said: “So happy for you!!! The new routine is amazing and this is just so deserved, congratulations!!!”
“This is everything,” someone else wrote.
The response from Jackson came over Frazier expressed her hope that the singer would like it following her performance.
“I did a new floor routine. I did Miss Janet Jackson. I did a medley. I hope you like it girl, if you see it. I love you a lot! You’re my inspiration in life. So floor was great,” she said while giving a recap of the meet on the UCLA gymnastics Instagram.
