Jane Moore jokes she's drunk on the job as she slurs her way through Loose Women

Jane Moore was left red faced on Loose Women on Wednesday as she struggled to get her words out while introducing the first topic of the day.

The 59-year-old became flustered as she fumbled her words as she attempted to begin a discussion on the lunchtime discussion show about the obesity crisis facing the UK.

And her co-stars were so surprised to see the usually cool-headed panellist coming undone – and quickly accusations that she was drunk began to fly.

Seeing the funny side, Jane joked that she was indeed tipsy and joked that her Loose Women mug that was embossed with her name was filled with alcohol.

Introducing a segment, Jane addressed the camera and began: "Now, a startling report by the World Health Organisation warns that Britain will be the Euro-oop."

Co-stars of the day Carol McGiffin, Coleen Nolan and former singer Frankie Bridge, 33, all laughed away at Jane's expense.

As Jane became flustered and made a gurning face at the camera, Frankie asked: "Are you alright, love?" while Carol asked that she: "spit it out!"

Seeing the funny side, Jane laughed: “Europe's fattest country! I got it there in the end."

Panellist Coleen, 57, then quipped: “You've got gin in that cup."

Jane then said flatly: "I have got gin in that cup... don't tell anyone" – before swiftly moving on with her presenting duties.

Once back on track, the ladies got to grips with the toughest topics of the day – explaining that they were shocked to learn the UK will soon become the most obese country in Europe.

Jane informed viewers that the nation is currently only just behind Turkey – and that the UK is already the fattest country in Western Europe.

It is predicted that the UK will overtake all of the rest of Europe to become the fattest nation within 10 years.

While it is also argued that the obesity epidemic has been exacerbated by food delivery apps which saw business boom during lockdown.

Turning her rage on the app delivery drivers, panellist Carol, 62, raged that she “hates” them – and can’t stand the fact that restaurants are empty when she goes out to eat and that a queue of delivery drivers are lined up outside instead.

Coleen Nolan laughed: “It’s not their fault!”

While Carol argued that it is the government’s fault that people are getting fat for allowing delivery drivers to transport fast food to the homes of those who buy them.
