New Celebrity Gogglebox star Jane McDonald is rumoured to have landed another big TV job - as Holly Willoughby's co-host on Dancing On Ice. Jane, who is renowned for her TV series Cruising With Jane McDonald, is said to be taking over from Phillip Schofield following his scandal-hit departure from ITV.
Jane, a former Loose Women panellist, has already stood in for Schofield on one occasion - she hosted the British Soap Awards after he quit daytime show This Morning and then the channel after admitting to an affair with a much-younger colleague.
Now it seems that Jane is being lined up to be the new co-presenter of Dancing On Ice. An insider told The Mirror: “Jane is now the favourite to replace Phillip on Dancing on Ice when it returns next year. She did a great job hosting the Soap Awards earlier this month and bosses are keen to sign her up. She had people in stitches – and they love how frank she is, while also being very warm.”
