Jane McDonald fans are celebrating after it's been confirmed that the popular star has landed another massive TV role, hot on the heels of her earning widespread praise for hosting this year's British Soap Awards.
After speculation linked the likes of Joel Dommett and Dermot O'Leary to the Soap Awards presenting gig, following Phillip Schofield's much publicised departure from not only the ceremony, but ITV as a whole; it was announced that it would be Jane, who won a BAFTA for her Channel 5 travel series, that would be taking on the job.
She was at the helm of the annual event at the Lowry Theatre on Saturday, June 3 and then, when it aired on ITV a few days later, viewers could not get enough of Jane as presenter, with many calling for her to be given the role every year, with some even calling for her to be in contention for a job on This Morning.
While Jane being a presenter on This Morning doesn't look on the cards, she will be back on primetime TV very, very soon as a new cast member on Celebrity Gogglebox. Jane conformed the news on her Facebook page, writing: "I'm going to be appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with my best friend Sue - it's going to be an absolute blast! We’ve shared some unforgettable moments over the years but I am really looking forward to spending time together on this wonderful show."
The new series of Celebrity Gogglebox starts this Friday, June 16 and other stars lined up to sit on their sofas for the new series include Davina McCall with her partner Michael Douglas, Katherine Ryan and her husband Bobby, Rob Beckett and Tom Allen, Tom Grennan and his dad Martin, and Chris Packham CBE with his step-daughter Megan.
