A woman known as Jane Doe has decided to withdraw her lawsuit against music moguls Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Jay-Z, alleging sexual assault that reportedly occurred 25 years ago. The lawsuit was dropped with prejudice, meaning it cannot be re-filed in the future, as per a court filing by Doe's attorneys.
According to the court document, both Combs and Jay-Z's legal teams acknowledged and consented to the dismissal. Jay-Z's attorney, Alex Spiro, expressed relief at the resolution, stating that the false allegations against his client have been dismissed with prejudice.
The initial lawsuit was filed against Combs in October 2024, with Doe claiming she was drugged and raped by him and another celebrity at an afterparty for the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000 when she was just 13 years old. Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, was later added as a defendant in a December 2024 amended complaint, also accused of rape.

Jay-Z vehemently denied the allegations, urging for criminal complaints rather than civil ones due to the severity of the accusations. Despite efforts by Carter's legal team to have the case dismissed, the judge denied the request in December, allowing Doe to proceed anonymously.
While acknowledging inconsistencies in her recollection of events during an interview with NBC, Doe maintained her stance that she was raped. Her attorney, Tony Buzbee, reiterated her commitment to the truth as per her memory.
Combs' legal representatives highlighted the dismissal of Doe's case as further evidence that the lawsuits against him are based on falsehoods rather than facts. Combs, who is facing multiple sexual assault lawsuits, was indicted in September on charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
On the other hand, Combs' attorney reiterated his client's denial of any sexual assault or trafficking allegations, emphasizing that he has not engaged in such behavior with anyone, regardless of age or gender.
Following the withdrawal of the lawsuit, Doe's attorney declined to provide any further comments on the matter.
