Jan Vertonghen hailed Harry Kane as the “best penalty taker in the world” following the England captain’s spot-kick against Manchester United.
Tottenham lost 3-2 in a dramatic game, falling further behind in their attempts to qualify for next season’s Champions League following a stunning hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Kane leveled the score following Ronaldo’s opener with a fine penalty after Alex Telles was penalised for handling in the box.
That goal took Kane up to 49 penalties scored from a possible 57 and, after a difficult start to the campaign following a lack of pre-season, up to 11 Premier League goals.
One of the most reliable strikers of the ball from 12-yards, Kane’s last missed penalty was during the Euro 2020 semi-final against Denmark although the 28-year-old followed up on the rebound.

Watching his former teammate briefly restore parity at Old Trafford on Saturday, Vertonghen was full of praise for Kane.
