Jamie Webster to become only second Scouser to headline M&S Bank Arena

Jamie Webster will become the second solo act from Liverpool to headline the city's M&S Bank Arena when he takes to the stage tonight.

A sold-out crowd of 11,000 is set to attend tonight's (November 19) gig. Jamie, 28, will follow Paul McCartney as the second Liverpudlian act to take top-billing at the arena.

It caps a significant year for the singer-songwriter, who performed at the Left Field stage at Glastonbury in June and saw his second album 'Moments', which was released in January, peaked at number three in the charts.

About the show, Jamie tweeted: "Big one tonight". Tonight's gig marks the next significant step in Jamie's journey.

A former electrician who gained popularity through songs which are well-versed on Anfield's Kop, Jamie found success with his 2020 debut album 'We Get By', which peaked at six on the album chart. A live album called 'Boss', which featured Jamie singing football songs made the top ten folk charts.

This year's tour has seen Jamie playing a number of dates across the UK and Ireland, most recently playing Dublin's Olympia Theatre. Tonight's show, which will feature support from Scottish band The Snuts, is also being turned into a live album.

ECHO readers have wished Jamie the best of luck before the gig. Posting on Facebook, Anne Burns said: "Can’t wait for tonight!!!! Well done Jamie….. go smash it lad!!!

Paul Ellis said: "What dreams are made of. What a journey!", while Martin Orton added: "Well done young man".
