Jamie Redknapp warns Arsenal top four race not over amid 'inconsistent' Tottenham claim

Jamie Redknapp has admitted that Arsenal have been playing the best football out of the teams challenging for the final top four place but has warned Mikel Arteta's side that their job is not yet done.

The Gunners put down another marker in the race for the final Champions League spot on Saturday after they beat a resolute Aston Villa side 1-0 away from home. They're now on 54 points with ten games to go and look in a strong position to achieve what they set out to do at the beginning of the season.

Nevertheless, whilst Redknapp has insisted that they're the team to beat in the race, he's also warned that there's still a long way to go. Speaking on Sky Sports before Tottenham Hotspur's clash with West Ham on Sunday, he said: "In terms of the top four, I have enjoyed watching Arsenal and I think they are playing the best football, followed by that impressive result against Aston Villa yesterday. They are the team in form, but there is still such a long way to go.

The former Spurs and Liverpool star also explained that Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham are very much still in the thick of things, but they've got to find a solution to their struggles with consistency.

"Inconsistency would drive me mad, and I bet it is driving Antonio Conte mad too. You look at the stats and you think the Spurs fans today must be thinking we won the last one, so we are going to lose today. But, they have got to change it sooner or later, and there is two ways to look at it.

"You might say is that once you get lost, can you turn it around and get a positive result. They will look at this game, West Ham had a monumental result in midweek and that could play into Spurs’ hands."

Arsenal still have work to do, but Arteta will be confident that his team can get the job over the line.
