Jamie Redknapp makes huge Arsenal transfer claim as he urges Marcus Rashford to make move

Jamie Redknapp has urged Marcus Rashford to leave Manchester United in the summer amid links with a potential move to Arsenal. It comes at a difficult time for the 24-year-old, who has struggled to break into the Red Devils team this season.

The forward has started just ten Premier League games this season, scoring four and assisting two in the league so far. However, despite the club’s apparent struggles in the league, he is continuing to start on the bench.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick has discussed the reason for snubbing the England international, saying: “It is no secret that he [Marcus Rashford] was not full of confidence in the last couple of weeks. In training he is looking well but it was a question between Paul [Pogba] and Marcus, we went with Paul. It is a difficult time for him.”

The future of Rashford could depend on the next Manchester United manager, with a decision to be made over the summer. The transfer business of the new man could be an indicator of whether he will stay at the club or be free to leave, especially with a contract expiring in 2023.

Despite his status at Old Trafford, former Tottenham midfielder Redknapp believes the striker should move on in the summer, with “hundreds” of clubs wanting him. He said on Sky Sports: “I’m looking at Marcus Rashford right now and thinking, we’re not all going to jump on the Marcus Rashford bandwagon, but this is a young man that I believe has to go and explore and do something else.

“He looks like he’s fallen out of love with the game right now. Go play somewhere because there is no doubt that there is a player in there and there and for him the clubs there will be, there will be hundreds of clubs that will want him.

“He’s had enormous success against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain in Europe, clubs in England would want him, Tottenham, Arsenal, everyone would want him. But I think his time has run now at Manchester United “

With Arsenal linked with a move, it remains to be seen exactly how it would play out if he were to join. However, with a lack of centre-forward options in the summer, it could be a position that Mikel Arteta looks to address.
