Jamie Redknapp has left many of his fans infuriated after he 'bragged' about his family Christmas, while other people were struggling due to the cost of living crisis.
The former England footballer and Sky Sports pundit posted a clip on Instagram on Boxing Day as he told followers all about how he celebrated the big day.
The 49-year-old booked a two-time Michelin star chef to come round and cook for him, wife Frida Andersson, their kids, and grandparents Harry and Sandra Redknapp.
The family were treated to a spread of crispy roast potatoes, brussels sprouts, carrots, cranberry sauce, beef and turkey, among other dishes, writes The Mirror.
Jamie posted various snaps and captioned them: "Happy Christmas and God Jul ❤️. Love from our family . Amazing food @rest_story."
However, it's caused upset with fans who were not able to afford such a lavish spread on Christmas Day. Some hit out at the star, with one saying: "So sad that you can post pictures like that, having your own chef to do your Xmas dinners when so many people are struggling to feed their kids & heat their houses. It must be nice to have that money !! Players overpaid & pundits. Have some respect!"
Another follower wrote: “Cook your own food ffs! Why be so overly indulgent? It's not hard to do,” whilst a third added: “Not appropriate. People [are] starving.”
“Looks like the cost of living hasn’t hit home yet,” another noted.
But not everyone took a swipe at Jamie.
“Some people acting like the cost of living crisis is Jamie's fault,” one person defended, while another added: “Food looks great. You've earned your money so you should be able to spend it however you like. I think [hiring] a chef is a great idea.”
The Mirror has contacted a representative of Jamie Redknapp for a comment on the claims.
