Jamie Redknapp has suggested Jack Grealish is now Pep Guardiola's "go-to guy" at Manchester City following his strong performance in the win over Liverpool.
Guardiola's men secured a convincing 4-1 victory over the Merseyside outfit on Saturday, with Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish all on the scoresheet. The Blues actually went a goal down after Mohamed Salah put Liverpool in front, but the reigning champions responded in emphatic fashion.
City were without several first-team stars for the clash at the Etihad Stadium, with Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva all ruled out of the game. Despite this, the Blues managed to dominate Jurgen Klopp's side - and several players received widespread praise for their individual showings.

England international Grealish delivered one of his best performances of the season, grabbing the assist for Alvarez's opener before scoring City's fourth and final goal in the 74th minute. The 27-year-old also played his part defensively and managed to prevent a promising Liverpool counter-attack.
"I wouldn’t expect anything different having watched this team for so long and the football that they play is just magnificent," Redknapp said on Sky Sports. "I don’t think Liverpool helped themselves.
"Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defending there is scandalous to be honest, the way he doesn’t track Jack Grealish - but as Shay [Given] said, he’s as good as anyone in the Premier League at the minute, he’s playing with so much confidence and in the nicest possible way, a bit of arrogance as well.
"I think when he first went there he was a bit apologetic about being there - ‘am I right? Should I be playing with these players?’ Right now he’s almost leading the way to a certain extent, he’s Pep’s go-to guy and they’ll certainly put the pressure on Arsenal, but boy did they respond well in the afternoon."
Grealish, who won the Premier League title with the Blues last term, has now registered four goals and eight assists in all competitions this season. With 29 of his 37 appearances coming as a starter, he was asserted himself as a key player under Guardiola.
