Jamie Redknapp and Les Ferdinand agree on Arsenal stars Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have both been told that they've taken their games to a new level this season. The exciting attacking duo have played an integral role in Arsenal's sensational start to the season, which sees them top the Premier League table.

Both players have started every league game, highlighting their importance to the Gunners. Saka has claimed four goals and four assists in 10 games, with Martinelli grabbing six direct goal contributions in as many matches.

Despite only being 21, Saka has been told that he's now Arsenal's talisman. Les Ferdinand believes the England international has upped his game by adding goals to his repertoire.

"He’s gone from strength to strength, he’s got better every season and now he’s adding goals," Ferdinand told Sky Sports' Super Sunday.

"He’s almost like the talisman, certain players get knocks and you want to rest them but there’s certain players who get knocks and you’ve still got to play him, because they’re that important and that’s where Saka is at the moment."

Meanwhile, Martinelli also came in for some glowing praise by the Super Sunday panel. The Brazilian has been at Arsenal since in 2019, but he hasn't played regularly in past campaigns - but now he's one of the first names of the team sheet.

"Martinelli is just a player that’s gone to another level this season, he’s shown how good he’s become," said Jamie Redknapp. "He’s got so much pace, energy, there are so many threats in this Arsenal team."
