Jamie Oliver is trying to cook up shows for Netflix, despite still having three on the boil with Channel 4.
The chef is working on ideas to promote his healthy eating cam-paign through his youth-orientated charity BiteBack 2030.
Jamie, 47, ended his multi-million pound golden handcuffs deal with Channel 4 early this year.
However he has since agreed to make two others on a non-exclusive basis – the eight-part Jamie’s One-Pan Wonders, to air later this year, and extended series Jamie’s Seasons, to air next year.
Channel 4 bosses are not letting him go without a fight and have now ordered a third series – Jamie’s Mediterranean Adventures, said to have begun filming.
But Jamie is trying to clinch other deals to spread his healthy eating message. He co-founded BiteBack 2030 in 2019 with the aim of halving childhood obesity by educating kids about healthy eating.
One source said: “Jamie has ended his exclusive contract with Channel 4 and is looking to work elsewhere. A team from BiteBack is developing ideas aimed at Netflix.
“Channel 4 aren’t thrilled about sharing Jamie but have made sure they won’t lose him altogether.”
His TV firm has advertised for producers to work on “Netflix Development”. Netflix said no Jamie shows have yet been commissioned.
The dad-of-five joined Channel 4 in 2002 after finding fame on BBC2’s The Naked Chef in 1999.
