Jamie Lee Curtis and Rita Wilson lead celebrity tributes to Bruce Willis following retirement announcement

Some of the biggest names in Hollywood have rallied around Bruce Willis after it was revealed he is retiring from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia.

His family, including Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis, ex Demi Moore and three grown-up daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, confirmed the news in a statement posted to their individual social media accounts.

It explained that the 67-year-old Die Hard star would be stepping back from his career due to the condition which can impact a person’s language skills.

The news resulted in an outpouring of love for the popular star whose career spans more than four decades.

Leading the host of famous faces lining up to send their best wishes was actresses Jamie Lee Curtis and Rita Wilson.

“Grace and guts! Love to you all!, Curtis wrote under Moore’s post, with Tom Hanks’ wife adding: “My heart goes out to Bruce, and all of the family. So thankful you shared this with us. Keeping you all in our prayers.”

Julianne Moore and Cindy Crawford kept it simple by responding with a red heart emoji and praying hands emoji respectively.

While supermodel Helena Christensen told Tallulah: “Sending so much love and strength to your beautiful family,” followed by three red heart emojis.

Sex and the City star Kristin Davis also said she was “sending love to you all, while Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner posted: ‘Much love Bruce !!!!!’

On Twitter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Family Guy actor Seth Green, told his followers: “I have so much love for Bruce Willis, and am grateful for every character he’s given us.

“Hugs and love for the whole family- thank you for sharing him with us all.”

Willis’ has racked up 140 acting credits in his time, not taking into account a number of uncredited roles in the early 1980s.

His big break came in the 80s TV series Moonlighting starring alongside Cybill Shepherd.

He has since gone on to star in blockbusters including Armageddon, Pulp Fiction and The Sixth Sense.

Despite his retirement, the prolific actor still has multiple projects set for release, such as Fortress: Sniper’s Eye, Vendetta and Corrective Measures.
