Jamie Laing very almost gave a new meaning to the Strictly phrase 'bottom two' during his time on the show.
The Made in Chelsea star, 33, recalls getting "rid of everything in his body" ahead of one performance on the BBC ballroom dancing show in 2020, but still almost "s*** himself" during his infamous Hercules routine when doing the Charleston alongside partner Karen Hauer.
On a similar note, the reality TV star also remembers one of the first comments he saw when he looked on social media after taking to the dancefloor being: "Jamie is like that turd you can't flush."
The podcast host got all the way to the final of Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 - missing out on lifting the Glitterball trophy to comedian Bill Bailey - after having to pull out of the 2019 series two days before the launch show was aired due to injury.
Looking back on his time on the much-loved BBC show with Nick Grimshaw and Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett, Jamie admits the experience can be "so intense" and he would often be nervous ahead of each performance.
"Oh, my God, it's full on," he says on the Waitrose & Partners podcast, Dish - as he urges the show's hosts to sign up for the show themselves.
"And then what happens is, I don't know if, you know when you. Have you ever... When you run a bath, you take a pee before you run a bath. And then as your foot goes in the bath, well you need another pee. It's like an automatic thing, right?
He continued: "Okay, I've, I've got rid of everything in my body, I'm ready. As, as you're about to go on, you go, well I need to go. And obviously when I did the Hercules routine, I honestly thought, I don't think I can swear, I thought I was gonna shit myself. I was on the dance floor. And it was a Charleston. So, every time a leg went up, I was like, yeah, killing me."
Jamie was undoubtedly a hit with the viewers and the voting public during his stint on the show, but he recalls reading some not-so-nice comments on social media each time he found himself in the dreaded bottom two.
After Angelina tells the star how much Strictly fans adored him, he disagrees and says: "No, they didn't. They voted me out. They said to me, don't check Twitter. And I went, that's got to be quite nice.
"And I'm in the dance off, I was like, I'm in the dance off, shucks. I was like, but I probably got loads of support. I went on Twitter. The first thing I saw is Jamie is like that turd you can't flush. It was not a good idea."
Elsewhere in his candid podcast chat with Nick and Angela, Jamie opens up about how he first wound up appearing on Made in Chelsea, his relationship with his former co-star Spencer Matthews, and his grand plans for his upcoming wedding with fiancée Sophie 'Habbs' Habboo
