Jamie Genevieve breaks Guinness World Record on first episode of her new BBC show

Scots YouTube star Jamie Genevieve has broken a Guinness World Record during the first episode of her new BBC show Jamie Genevieve's Great Indoors.

The show documents Jamie's life in lockdown with her husband Jack and her two dogs Drogba and Juno.

The pair can be seen doing a variety of different lockdown activities such as DIY haircuts and home decorating but they decided make it interesting and attempted to break a Guinness World Record.

Jamie managed to catch ten sponges (BBC)

Jamie and Jack took part in a challenge for the most makeup sponges caught in 30 seconds in a team of two - blind folded.

The couple had to stand two metres apart and catch seven makeup sponges to break the record.

They were given two attempts to break the record and recorded it all on camera.

The first attempt didn't go to plan with Jamie only managing to catch six, but the second time around the pair managed to breeze it, as Jamie caught 10 sponges in total.

And the couple, who were married last year in Italy, found out over video link that they had beaten the record.

The make-up artist learned her craft at a counter in a Glasgow Debenhams, and has said, despite her glitzy work trips abroad, she's never happier than when she's at home with Jack and their dogs.

The show will continue next Thursday on the BBC Scotland channel at 8.30pm.
