Jamie Foxx still in hospital after suffering ‘medical complication’ on set of Netflix movie

Jamie Foxx has remained in hospital for almost a week after he was admitted due to a “medical complication” while filming in Atlanta, according to a new report.

People have reported that the Oscar winner, 55, was staying in a Georgia health facility while undergoing a series of medical tests, despite a source claiming on Friday that he was improving.

The Hollywood star, known for films including Django, Collateral and Ray, was treated with “great care” following the unspecified incident last Tuesday while filming scenes for a new action Netflix movie he is making with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.

Sharing news about his health on social media, his daughter Corinne Foxx said the family was grateful for fans’ support and asked for privacy.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she wrote in a post on Instagram.

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”

Ms Foxx did not share any further details of what had occurred and no details since about his condition have been shared.

Netflix flick, Back in Action, was tipped to be Diaz’s movie comeback but there is yet to be word on when her co-star will make his return to set. Foxx is said to have coaxed the Charlie’s Angels star out of retirement one last time.

The Standard has contacted Jamie Foxx’s rep for comment.
