Jamie Foxx is said to be recovering in hospital after experiencing a 'medical complication', according to his family.
The 55-year-old actor, known for his films including Django Unchanged, Collateral and Ray, was treated with “great care” following the unspecified incident on Tuesday which left him hospitalised.
Sharing the news on social media, his daughter Corinne Foxx said the family was grateful for fans’ support and asked for privacy reports OK!.
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she wrote in a post on Instagram.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.
“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”
Corrine did not comment on what medical issue had occurred.
There is not much known about the cause of Jamie's hospital stay, or his current condition, but TMZ reports that the situation was "serious enough" that his close family rushed to his bedside.
A source told the publication: "He's communicating now, and that's good news."
The actor had been filming Back In Action in Atlanta with Cameron Diaz as recently as Monday.
Filming for the movie is thought to have had some struggles in the last months, as Jamie was reported to have had a "meltdown" on set, which "led to multiple people being fired".
The Sun reports that those who lost their job included an executive producer, an assistant director and a unit director — as well as Jamie’s driver.
A source told the publication: “There have been some issues on set and Jamie has had a major meltdown over it all.
“He demanded the problems be sorted immediately and sacked four of the production staff — as if that would magically improve the situation.”
“Some people working on it are totally fed up with how this has played out and Jamie has become pretty unpopular.”
