Jamie Foxx has '8 unfinished working days' on new film following medical emergency

Jamie Foxx's medical emergency is said to be causing havoc with the filming for his latest movie.

The star, 55, is in the middle of filming scenes for Back In Action, which also features Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.

However, the Hollywood veteran was rushed to hospital this week after experiencing a "medical complication".

His family initially asked for fans to prayer for the star and he is now said to be recovering. His daughter Corinne Foxx said at the time: "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery."

She continued: "We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family."

However, while Jamie is said to be joking with his family once again, the incident is said to have left movie bosses scrambling to find the time to complete production.

The Netflix film is being produced and directed by Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon and was initially set for release later this year.

Following the incident on Tuesday, it's reported a stand-in was used in Jamie's place.

PEOPLE reported that filming was cancelled for a day following the emergency before getting back underway on Thursday.

And TMZ claimed Jamie still has eight days of filming left to complete. However, the outlet says it has had conflicting reports as to what will happen with his remaining scenes.

According to the publication, sources from on-set are saying that although it's unclear as to when Jamie will - or can - return, plans are in place to wrap up the recordings by next week.

The Mirror has contacted production representatives for comment.

Jamie was said to have played a huge part in bringing Cameron Diaz back in front of the cameras.

In August last year, he shared his role in getting the actress on set after convincing her that they would have a good time.

He said: "It was literally, 'Do you wanna have some fun? Just have some fun!' And I think that's what brought her to it."

The pair last co-starred in 2014 in what is her last film prior to Back In Action.

They starred on Annie having previously starred in Any Given Sunday together in 1999.
