Jamie Dornan has said the 'Belfast' premiere at the Waterfront Hall was one of the best nights of his life.
The star, 39, came back to visit Northern Ireland alongside his co-stars and wife Amelia Warner back in November.
The movie, which is a semi-autobiographical film from Kenneth Branagh set here, is currently out in cinemas.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, Jamie who plays Pa, said: "Listen. It [the premiere in Belfast] was one of the best nights of my life. I felt like vomiting for the whole day... I get nervous before kind of everything.
"I really get, like, a sick feeling in my stomach when you are about to put something out there like that. But particularly, doing it for the people of home, you know, this movie means so much to them.
"We had family and some of my best mates there and 1,400 people from Belfast so it was a special night. It was class."
When chatting about child star Jude Hill, who plays the lead role of Buddy in the movie and is based in Armagh, Dornan added: "He's incredible.. it's his first ever anything, he'd done a lot of Irish dancing. That was the only sort of performative thing that he'd done, and he just steals every scene.
"And, he's really cheeky. But I keep telling him to embrace it. You need that to get through life, I think."
The Holywood man also told viewers how much of a fan he is of Judi Dench, who plays the grandmother of young Buddy and Pa's mum.
He said: "When I signed on, it was only Judi Dench attached at that point. I was like, 'I don't need to read the script, like, I'm doing it, I don't care'. Yeah, no matter what it is, I don't care what I'm doing in a Judi Dench film, but if I'm playing her son, I'm definitely doing it.
"Incredible... she is amazing. Ciarán Hinds who plays my dad in it, he sums her up perfectly. He says she's a rebel. She has this like this rebellious, cheeky, mischievous side to her and she's 87 now. She just comes ready to play. It's very fun to be around."
Jamie added: "She will never steer you the wrong way."
